Thinking of Pete Seeger and Peter, Paul and Mary’s popular song years ago. I have great memories of fun times being president of the Botanical Society of Westmoreland County for 14 years. One of these was planting hundreds of flowers every year with the Westmoreland Conservation District, Penn State Extension master gardeners and 4-H groups. It was a privilege to help beautify our courthouse surroundings. Hopefully when the parking garage issues are resolved, the plants and flowers will be planted again for the public to enjoy the beauty and also take time to smell the flowers.
