Letter to the editor: Who cried for the children of Gaza?
Did Benjamin Netanyahu cry when he terrorized, scapegoated and denied an entire people a homeland? Or is he so self-righteous that he forgot his own people have been terrorized, scapegoated and denied a homeland for centuries?
Did Donald Trump cry as children’s skulls were being pulverized into the coastal sands? Or was he too busy looking over the blueprints for his next seaside hotel in Palestine?
Did Karoline Leavitt cry when the last hospital for children was demolished by American-made bombs? Or was she too busy “spinning” genocide as a criterion for being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize?
Did our local priest cry when the mosque exploded, leaving hundreds of children orphaned? Or was it a quick thought and a prayer before heading off to Acrisure Stadium followed by a juicy steak at the Duquesne Club?
Did the Israeli fighter pilot cry when she launched the missile that incinerated a 5-year-old and her ragdoll? Or was the pilot just following “lawful orders”?
Did I cry when I watched the destruction of Gaza on our local news? Or had I become so numb to this violence that it became more background noise?
Did I cry? I can’t remember if I cried, but I hope to God that I did!
