I believe everything you need to know about the upcoming presidential election can be determined from the two candidates’ reactions to the Supreme Court’s presidential immunity decision.

President Biden bitterly condemned the ruling as a violation of separation of powers and the law under the Constitution. Apparently, Biden isn’t contemplating needing immunity from the law for any future actions he might take.

Donald Trump celebrated passage of the presidential immunity law. Apparently, he feels he may need immunity from some of his future actions, to say nothing of his past incursions into legality.

You may attempt to explain away Trump’s legal issues as a “deep state conspiracy” or a set-up from political operatives in the Justice Department, but I’d like to remind my Republican friends that every mobster from Al Capone to John Gotti said the same thing: “I did nothing wrong! I was framed!”
