Letter to the editor: Who's cross-checking the mail-in ballots?

Recently I received a mail-in ballot application from Washington, D.C., which I did not request. It was addressed to my household, thus two applications. My dear wife has been deceased for almost nine years. I have until Oct. 29 to send in the application.

Sounds like I can vote twice. I assume my precinct will have no idea I sent in a mail-in ballot. Who cross-checks this? Certainly not the election board in Greensburg; it seems to me that they can’t even count the so-called legal ballots on time. I guess this does not really matter if you have a D after your name.
