I was disappointed to see the six-page spread on the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments March 17. Why haven’t the NCAA Division 1 wrestling championships, which began March 17 in Detroit, garnered one sentence of coverage? Is anyone at the sports desk aware of the number of local men who have earned their way to this event? Every university in the Trib’s coverage area has at least one participant, not to mention the local men wrestling at out-of-state schools. Why not send Paul Schofield to Detroit for the weekend? He does such a great job of covering the high school wrestling scene.
