Letter to the editor: Why Trump's 'our guy'

Unfortunately, we find the letter “Trump’s your guy” (Jan. 15, TribLIVE) riddled with — insert shocked face — misconstrued “facts” and in true leftist form, completely biased. A few examples and some points of our own.

President Trump never had a peaceful transfer of power and stood by letting the Capitol be “attacked”? Video and twitter posts from Jan. 5 and 6 asking for peace and no violence say otherwise. Children being held in cages at the border? That was during the Obama administration.

Mean tweets and offensive comments, pot meet kettle. People on the left have become some of the most vile, violent, hate-filled people in our country’s history.

A few of Trump’s accomplishments? Border security; immigrants are now flooding in at a rate higher than the previous two administrations combined. Lower corporate tax rates, bringing companies back that left for more tax-friendly countries. No new wars — we have become involved in three since President Biden took office. How many of the millions of immigrants coming in are fighting-age males here to do us harm? Global peace treaties, lower capital gains tax, lower fuel prices, lower grocery bills, lower utilities, U.S.-favored tariffs, record low unemployment for minorities without a high school diploma, unemployment for women at a 70-year low … all without help from either party.

Trump didn’t have to but took on the world to fight for America, always putting Americans first, and that’s why he’s our guy.
