Letter to the editor: Will Constitution survive coronavirus?

Tribune-Review

The Democrats tried the Russia investigation, impeachment, then Russia a second time. The American people are getting wise to the Democrats’ tricks. They didn’t create the coronavirus, but they will use it to try to win the election in November.

This virus has caused panic on Wall Street and an economic slowdown. Will the Democrats blame this slowdown on Trump rather than the virus?

Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders are fighting for the Democratic nomination, with Biden leading in the polls. Since both have stopped campaigning because of the virus, Biden will probably maintain his lead. The Democratic leadership does not want Bernie Sanders to get the nomination over Joe Biden. He is an open socialist and would probably not win against Trump. So, in my opinion, they will sabotage Sanders.

I fear a power grab from county, state and federal governments. They can wave the magic pen and stop parades, sporting events, festivals and other public gatherings. I’m not comfortable giving our public officials that much power. I don’t trust the government to do the right thing. I trust Trump but not the sneaky Democrats.

I do take the coronavirus seriously. Only time will tell how deadly it truly is. But after the virus has run its course, I hope the Constitution has survived.
