Letter to the editor: Will Dems make America a one-party nation?

Tribune-Review

On Sept. 17, 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked what type of government the Founding Fathers had created. His reply: “a republic, if you can keep it.”

I will be voting for Donald Trump because in my opinion, he is the only presidential candidate who will guarantee we will remain a republic through 2024.

I believe Joe Biden’s Democratic allies hate the republic form of government, because power resides with the people rather than the Washington elites — and that keeps their far left agenda sidelined. They cannot directly attack the founders’ design because it is strongly supported by the American public.

I think Democrats plan to indirectly attack the design by making America a one-party nation, creating conditions where they win all future elections. Then, power will reside with the elites.

Possible key plan elements include eliminating the Electoral College, giving Democratic territories statehood, packing the Supreme Court, appointing judges who legislate, opening borders with amnesty for illegals, eliminating the Senate filibuster, approving unsolicited mail-in voting, intimidating citizens with riots and defunding the police.

Biden has not rejected these schemes, which means he is likely a supporter. That makes him an extremely high-risk candidate for average citizens, potentially bringing a future of curtailed constitutional rights, fewer jobs and lower prosperity. The elites win. So vote wisely.
