Letter to the editor: Will law-abiding, God-fearing citizens prevail?

Never in my almost 65 years have I seen our nation in such an absurd and perilous state. We are nothing less than an empire in the final stages of collapse. We have replaced common sense with nonsense. Politics and news media are discredited beyond redemption.

I believe we have an entire generation that is the product of a morally and intellectually bankrupt education, an institution hijacked decades ago. They’re imbued with a distorted sense of entitlement and hubris. Cancel culture, internet censorship, social shaming and political correctness are the equivalent of Orwellian Newspeak and book burning, a destruction of the First Amendment.

Mob rule is trying to erase the “thin blue line” that separates civility from chaos. They ironically burn and loot private property as they chant for justice. Violent crime soars as statues of long-dead white men of authority are toppled like dominoes.

We have become strangers in our own neighborhoods as businesses are forcibly closed and socialization is discouraged. We hide behind masks in fear of what I believe is an engineered pathogen. Our economy is a fraud based on unsustainable debt and financial sleight-of-hand as unemployment skyrockets.

We are plagued with despicable politicians made wealthy through lifetime corruption and others newly elected who are following Pol Pot’s playbook. We refuse to get on our knees in repentant prayer to Jesus Christ but willingly kneel in protest during our national anthem.

Yet the law-abiding, God-fearing core of this nation may still prevail, and if they do then “this was their finest hour.”
