It’s obvious the WPIAL will never correct the inequities that allow the Catholic/private high/low schools to enjoy athletic recruiting from anywhere.

Question: Is it possible to determine how many members of the board of directors of the WPIAL (and the PIAA) are Catholic?

The media, when dealing with “higher ed” sports information, does not know the word university. The word college is the norm. Guess what: there are only seven colleges (of 133) in Division I sports and 21 (of 162) in Division II. University lost its original meaning decades ago when very small schools substituted their original designations. All 141 of the Division II schools did.

The State System of Higher Education in Pennsylvania is an excellent example. (I taught at Cal U — now stupidly renamed PennWest U). A few of the Division I schools did. It’s as if it gave them/us a new status. Did it? No. Does anyone care/know about this topic? No!
