I highly recommend District Judge Cheryl Peck Yakopec for reelection Nov. 7. She has shown that she is dedicated to her only job as a judge to make fair and just decisions, especially in these times of uncertainty.

She also goes the extra step to help people who cannot vote for her. This summer, Yakopec agreed to marry our daughter and son-in-law. She came to Armstrong County, which is not in her voting district, on her birthday to perform the ceremony. She had a shower later that day for her own son and his fiancee and had to arrive late. She also attended the rehearsal ceremony the night before.

Yakopec has married more than 3,000 people, which is more than any other judge in our area, and she’s not allowed to receive any additional compensation for this job function. Some judges will not even perform wedding ceremonies.

She loves her job, even if it is a 24/7 commitment.

Yakopec exemplifies what a good elected official does and deserves to be reelected. Her dedication to law and community makes her the absolute best choice.
