I met Leslie Uncapher Zellers about 25 years ago. I was in an abusive relationship for a few years. I wasn’t safe anywhere. My work, my home weren’t safe places. When we finally split up for good with the help of a PFA, I still had problems. I had to get his name removed from the mortgage, and the mortgage company wouldn’t allow me to remove his name without his signature … in their building, across the state.

Zellers learned of my situation and worked with the finance company to allow us to sign the papers in her office, in separate rooms, where I was safe. She changed my life that day. I ran into her a few months back, and we both misted up a bit when I thanked her for giving me my life back. Back then, she took my fears and frustration and replaced them with a safe feeling for the first time in years.

While I am unable to vote for her because I don’t live in her voting district, I am able to share my story. Please vote Leslie Uncapher Zellers for district judge so that she can continue protecting and saving lives like mine.
