On Nov. 5, President Donald J. Trump won back the White House in dominating fashion. His 312 electoral votes vastly dwarfed Vice President Kamala Harris’ total of 226. The key state in his victory? Unquestionably, our commonwealth with its 19 electoral votes. Driven by his messages of prosperity, safety, and security, Pennsylvanians came out in droves to reverse the past four years of American decline and sent Trump back to Washington.

One hundred days into his second term, Trump has emphatically delivered on his famous “promises made, promises kept” mantra.

According to a Gallup poll, the economy and immigration were the two biggest issues that influenced Americans’ presidential choice. Trump immediately acted on this mandate, and his efforts to crack down on illegal immigration and fight for the American worker cannot be ignored. Instead, they should be applauded — and rightly so.

On immigration, illegal crossings have all but ceased to exist. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security now reports a 99.9% stoppage success rate at the southern border — a shocking percentage considering the record number of border crossings and gotaways under the Biden-Harris administration. For years, the American people were told by Democrats that new legislation was needed, or that the president could not act alone to stop the invasion.

They were wrong. Trump accomplished border security in less than 24 hours, signing powerful executive orders which simply reinstated the policies of his first term. Like clockwork, the crisis ended.

The president also fulfilled a promise he made to 95-year-old Pennsylvanian Malphine Fogel, whose son, Marc, had been wrongly detained in Russia for nearly four years under the Biden-Harris administration. Trump brought him back to America in just 22 days. In the words of Marc at the White House: “President Trump is a hero.”

Building on that local effort, Pennsylvanians have seen successes snowballing at home. Since the president’s inauguration, three major companies have announced significant investments in our communities. America’s leading energy manufacturer, GE Vernova, is bringing $600 million in investments to U.S. factories, including $20 million in Charleroi and $10 million in Pittsburgh. Bayer Corp., a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer, is also investing in Eastern Pennsylvania with its $44 million commitment to expand facilities in Lebanon County.

Lastly, Homer City Redevelopment and Kiewit Power Constructors recently announced a $10 billion generating project in Indiana County. The development will convert the original coal-fired plant into the largest gas-fired power plant in the nation, while also creating 10,000 jobs. This is phenomenal news for the area given the shuttering of the previous plant during the last days of the Biden-Harris administration.

Nationally, inflation is also down year-over-year, gas prices have dropped nearly 50 cents per gallon, and egg prices have plummeted dramatically. I’m extremely bullish on the future of our nation under Trump, and you should be, too. Pennsylvania sent the president to the White House — and he’s delivering prosperity back to our commonwealth.

If his first 100 days are any indication, America is fast approaching a Golden Age thanks to President Trump.

Guy Reschenthaler represents Pennsylvania’s 14th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He serves as chief deputy whip.
