On Jan. 13, students at Marzolf Elementary School in Shaler Area School District got a vivid illustration of the magic of science through an assembly with Mad Science that explores fire and ice. Experiments brought science concepts about states of matter to life for students.

There was fire, ice and vapor.

The assembly was an extension of the after-school program that Mad Science hosts at Marzolf, which gives students a strong foundation in STEM. According to organizers, Mad Science is founded on the belief that “fostering a love for science, technology, engineering and math at a young age will give students the confidence they need to excel in these fields.”
