Shaler North Hills Library, located at 1822 Mt. Royal Blvd. in Glenshaw, has a packed calendar of events for May. Sak Pase Food Truck – 2-6 p.m. May 4. Experience Haitian foods on the go in the library’s front parking lot.

Friends of SNHL Annual Meeting – 6:30 p.m. May 4. This group of dedicated people actively works to make Shaler North Hills Library a better place. All funds raised go towards library programming and the purchase of special items. Annual dues are $15/person or $25/household. All are welcome.No registration required.

Free Streaming of the play adaptation of “Perseverance” –1 p.m. May 6. Join us for a recorded streaming of the Prime Stage Theatre’s production of “Perseverance,” a world premiere adaptation of the book “Perseverance: A Holocaust Survivor’s Journey.” After the viewing, join author Lee Kikel and L.E. McCullough, who adapted the book into the play, for an intimate talk on Lee’s father story and the journey from his tapes to the book to the play. Registration is required.

Nature Snippets for Adults – 1:30 p.m. May 11. Don’t miss our popular nature series with educators and Master Naturalists Pat Milliken and Gil Pielin presenting a series of hands-on workshops designed to put people in tune with nature. Please register.

Mother’s Day Tea & Tales – 1:30 p.m. May 12. Author Charlotte Wlodkowski has gathered her own musings in her book “Little Bits of This and That.” Join us for a cup of tea while Charlotte shares her stories … and maybe you’ll share a few of your own! One lucky attendee will receive a free copy of the book. Please register.

Mission Mahi Truck Food Truck – 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. May 13. Featuring fish and grilled chicken tacos, vegetarian options, plus French fry combos, available in the library’s front parking lot.

Dementia Friends Information Session – 6:30 p.m. May 15. Dementia Friends is an initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way we think, talk and act about the disease. Join others in a one-hour Dementia Friends Information Session, which will cover five key messages about dementia and touch on what it is like to live with dementia. Please register.

Act Out: Readers Theater Troupe for Adults and Teens – 6:30 p.m. May 16. Think about using your voice (and sometimes a few props or costumes) to share a great drama or comedy without memorizing a script. Please register.

Caregiver Support Session – 1:30 p.m. May 17. Join Erin McMaster, a Memory Care Advisor from Promedica Memory Care, for free monthly sessions for persons who are caring for or supporting a loved one with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other cognitive/memory issues. Registration is helpful but not required. Walk-ins/drop-ins always welcome.

Spring Concert with the Pittsburgh Recorder Society — 1 p.m. May 20. Join us for festive, fun, family-friendly music with the Pittsburgh Recorder Ensemble. No registration required.

Hot Topics: Planning for Nursing Home Care — 1:3o p.m. May 23. This talk will focus on strategies used when planning and applying for state funded nursing home care. Local attorneys from Pittsburgh Estate Law PC will tackle the most common questions including the biggest one: Can the nursing home take my house? Please register.

Sense and Sound Poetry Discussion Group – 6:30 p.m. May 30. Join us for a fresh perspective on poetry. We will discover together why poetry is for all of us. Please register.
