Three takeaways from the Penguins’ 4-3 overtime win at Buffalo on Friday:

No. 4 with a bullet

Making 28 saves on 31 shots, Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry past the Buffalo Sabres at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, N.Y. on Friday.

In the process, he earned his 105th career win with the Penguins, surpassing Ken Wregget (104) for fourth place on the franchise’s career goaltending wins list.

Only Marc-Andre Fleury (375), Tom Barrasso (226) and Matt Murray (117) have more.

This season, Jarry has appeared in 18 games and has a 12-3-3 record, a 2.76 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage and one shutout.

Deja vu

Forward Jeff Carter scored the winning goal at 1:36 of overtime while working on a four-on-three power-play opportunity.

Oddly enough, Carter scored the Penguins’ last overtime goal against the Sabres which happened nearly one year ago to the date.

On Dec. 17, 2021, the Penguins claimed a 3-2 home win at PPG Paints Arena thanks to a score by Carter.

Staying hot

Penguins forward Kasperi Kapanen recorded a primary assist on a goal by linemate Brock McGinn at 16:30 of the third period.

Kapanen has six points (four goals, two assists) in his past three games. In his first 14 games of the season, he had five points (one goal, four assists).

Follow the Penguins all season long.
