Steelers tight end Eric Ebron pulls in a catch over the Ravens’ Marion Humphrey on the winning drive in the fourth quarter Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020 at M&T Bank Stadium.

One day after Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey revealed he tested positive for the coronavirus, the team placed seven other players on the covid-19 list who must isolate themselves after close contact with an infected person.

The players are outside linebackers Matthew Judon and Tyus Bowser; inside linebackers L.J. Fort, Patrick Queen and Malik Harrison; safety Deshon Elliott and cornerback Terrell Bonds.

All seven do have a chance to play Sunday against the Colts if the game goes on as scheduled. They’ll need to isolate for five days, meaning they’ll miss the week of practice, but they could return to the team by game day if they test negative for the virus and do not exhibit symptoms.

Dr. Allen Sills, the NFL’s chief medical officer, said Monday on a conference call the league deemed six players as close contacts with Humphrey. The seventh player came into contact with an infected person outside of the organization, according to an NFL Network report.

No Ravens player tested positive for the virus Monday, and Humphrey remains the only player on the team known to be infected.

Humphrey, who must remain away from the team for at least 10 days, will not be able to play with the team Sunday.

All seven players who landed on the covid-19 list Tuesday contributed on defense for the Ravens during Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, so their absences from practice will disrupt the week of preparation for the Colts at the least. Further complications could leave Baltimore’s defense decimated.
