Ameriah Walters completed a clean sweep.

The Valley graduate, a senior at Seton Hill, won her fourth consecutive 200-meter title at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships Saturday at Mansfield.

Walters finished with a time of 24.46 seconds. She also finished sixth in the 100 (12.33 seconds).

Arizona: Sophomore Jordan Geist (Knoch) was named male athlete of the meet at the Pac-12 track & field championships Sunday in Tucson, Ariz. Geist, who also won the honor last season, defended his conference title in the shot put Saturday with a throw of 21.08 meters, the furthest distance at the championships since 2011. He became the first Arizona male athlete to win back-to-back shot put titles. He also finished third in the hammer throw (65.32 meters) and in the discus (56.98 meters).

Pitt: Sophomore Nikki Scherer (Burrell) earned second-team All-ACC honors with the 1,600-meter relay team after they finished third at the conference championships with a time of 3 minutes, 38.18 seconds. Scherer also finished eighth in the 400, posting a time of 54.21 seconds during the preliminaries, the eighth fastest in school history.

Baseball

Cal (Pa.): Freshman Jake McCaskey (Deer Lakes) was 4 for 16 with a double, triple, two RBIs and five runs during the Vulcans’ four games at the PSAC tournament. The Vulcans went 2-2 and were eliminated from the tournament.

Seton Hill: Redshirt junior Chris Law (Knoch) hit three home runs in Seton Hill’s four-game run at the PSAC championship, which was suspended Sunday with Bloomsburg declared champion. Law went 4 for 16 with three homers, five RBIs and six runs. Redshirt senior Nick Stotler (Plum) went 8 for 17 with eight runs and three RBIs, including a pair of three-hit games against Mercyhurst and Cal (Pa.).

Youngstown State: Freshman Dylan Swarmer (Knoch) hit the first two home runs of his collegiate career in a 5-4 win over Wright State earlier this month. The catcher went 2 for 3 with a two-run homer in the second inning and a solo shot in the fifth for the Penguins.

Men’s golf

Gannon: Sophomore Michael Marsico (Fox Chapel) grabbed the final individual qualifying spot Saturday for the NCAA Division II championships with a 54-hole total of 4-over-par 220 at the Atlantic/East Regional tournament at Totteridge Golf Club near Greensburg. Marsico shot 73, 74 and 73. He is Gannon’s first player to advance to nationals since Matt Barto (Leechburg) in 2015.

Softball

Gannon: Junior Rachel Tanilli (Deer Lakes) went 1 for 5 with an RBI, and junior Maria Taliani was 1 for 6 with a double as the Golden Knights fell to West Chester and West Virginia State at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional.

Mt. Aloysius: Freshman Emily Cochran (Highlands) had a strong performance during the Mounties’ three-game run at the NCAA Division III tournament. Cochran went 3 for 10 and pitched 9 2/3 innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out three.

Penn State Behrend: Senior Katie Gozzard (Deer Lakes) was 1 for 5 as the Lions reached the championship game of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament, falling to Pfeiffer.

Men’s tennis

Grove City: Freshman Karsten Lagerquist (Fox Chapel) was named first-team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference at first singles and first doubles. He went 11-7 in the top singles slot, including 6-1 in PAC play. He and Paul Hodge combined to go 8-4 at first doubles, including 6-1 in league play.

Waynesburg: Senior Josh Denham (Valley) was named first-team All-PAC at first doubles after he and Jonah Cooper went 11-4 in dual matches this season. Denham was named honorable mention All-PAC at second singles after going 7-8.
