Alston, 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, attends Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach, Va. He is rated a three-star prospect and the No. 22 overall prospect in Virginia by Rivals.com.
He had offers from several Power 5 schools, including two in his home state — Virginia and Virginia Tech — plus North Carolina, Maryland, Mississippi and South Carolina.
Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi has received verbal commitments from four rising seniors in the past week. The Panthers’ class is ranked 28th in the nation, fifth in the ACC, by Rivals.
