The weather in Sarver early Friday evening calls for temperatures in the low 60s with no rain in sight.

That is good news for area racing fans who plan to flock to Lernerville Speedway as the season finally gets started.

Mother Nature put a halt to the first two attempts to open the campaign.

Action on tap Friday with Fab4 Revved Up with Marburger Farm Dairy will feature the Peoples Natural Gas Sprint Cars, Precise Racing Products Late Models, Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds and Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks as the battle for season points will begin.

A new feature is the 1-800-GetPhil Heat Race Bonus, which will pay $800 at the end of the season to one driver from each of the Fab4 divisions who accumulates the most heat race points.

On Friday, a $500 bonus will go to the winner of the Peoples Sprint Car main event in memory of Dave Hartman courtesy of the Corrado race team.

Purses for this season, the Tomson family announced, will increase 5% for all Fab4 divisions and will cover all finishing positions through tow payout.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m., grandstand gates open at 5 and on-track activities start at 6:50, with racing to begin at 7:30 p.m.

General admission is $15 for ages 11 and older, and those 10 and under are admitted free. Pit passes for all ages are $30.

Fans can download the MyRacePass phone app, which will have live scoring, race results, driver information and point standings updated weekly.

For those unable to be at Lernerville Speedway on Friday, opening night will be livestreamed at Lernerville.TV. The pre-race show will go live at about 6:30.

Single-race passes are $20, and a monthly deal is $30.

Tickets for all weekly Fab4 Revved Up with Marburger Farm Dairy shows and all other events are available at Lernerville.com.

There, one can find additional information on Lernerville Speedway events, including schedules, ticket prices and answers to frequently asked questions.
