Albert Dikwa scores twice, Riverhounds win home finale in front of record crowd

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds wrapped up the most successful home campaign in franchise history with a 3-2 victory over FC Tulsa on Saturday night.

Albert Dikwa scored twice to lead the Riverhounds to their 13th league win and 16th win overall at home this season, both team records. The game was played in front of an announced crowd of 6,045, the largest ever for a regular season game at Highmark Stadium.

Dikwa ran his goal total to 19, setting a modern-day single-season franchise record. He came into the game tied for the USL Championship goal-scoring lead.

The Riverhounds (19-5-9) maintained their hold on the best record in the league. They came into the game with a three-point advantage on Tampa Bay.

Dikwa gave the Hounds the lead for good in the 12th minute when he headed in a high Dani Rovira cross at the back post. He made it 3-1 in the 63rd minute when he headed in a Kenardo Forbes free kick.

Joe Farrell also scored for the Hounds to make it 2-0 in the 29th minute. Junior Etou kept a ball alive with a header off a corner kick and Farrell headed it past the Tulsa keeper.

Keegan Hughes and Phillip Goodrum scored for Tulsa (9-15-9).

The Riverhounds have two games left in the regular season, at Tampa Bay and at Detroit the next two Saturdays.
