Pitt is well-stocked at wide receiver, with the return of six players — Jordan Addison, Shocky Jacques-Louis, Jared Wayne, Taysir Mack, Jaylon Barden and Tre Tipton — from the seven who led that position in receptions last season.

Gipson, who has four years of collegiate eligibility, helped lead Aliquippa to PIAA and WPIAL Class 3A championships in 2018, collecting 64 receptions for 1,658 yards and 22 touchdowns. He was a member of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Terrific 25.

At Aliquippa, Gipson (6-foot-3, 181 pounds) was was rated a three-star prospect and was ranked No. 17 in Pennsylvania by Rivals.com.
