Kiski Area graduate Nick Bisceglia earned Northeast Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in last Saturday’s 20-17 double-overtime victory by Robert Morris at St. Francis (Pa.).

Bisceglia collected eight points, six coming on a pair of field goals. The latter of the two was a 38-yard boot to win it in the second extra session.

The weekly honor is Bisceglia’s second of his career.

It also was the second time he delivered a gwinning kick. He nailed a 26-yard field goal with four seconds left in a 13-10 victory over Dayton on Sept. 2, 2017.

Through six games, Bisceglia ranks seventh in the NEC in scoring with 31 points (six field goals, 13 extra points).

Westminster: Leechburg graduate Tanner Dudek is the starting place kicker as a freshman, and he is tied for second on the team in points (42).

He is 3 of 5 on field goals with a long of 36 (twice) and is 33 of 34 on extra points. He converted all five of his point-after kicks in last Saturday’s 43-41 homecoming loss to Presidents’ Athletic Conference rival Grove City.

Westminster is 4-2 overall and travels to PAC foe Thiel on Saturday.

IUP: Apollo-Ridge grad and redshirt sophomore Duane Brown has at least one touchdown reception in all six games this season.

He caught his team-best 10th in last Saturday’s loss to Slippery Rock.

Brown hauled in a season-high three for scores against Mercyhurst on Sept. 28 and has accumulated 529 receiving yards, an average of 88.2 a game.

He also owns three rushing scores for the No. 22 Crimson Hawks, 5-1 overall and 2-1 in PSAC play.

Women’s volleyball

Butler County Community College: Freshman libero and Freeport graduate Mady McAninch is the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III women’s volleyball leader in digs per game (7.44).

She also ranks among the national leaders in total digs (387).

McAninch had 24 digs in a 3-0 win over Penn Highlands on Oct. 11 and tallied 22 in a straight-set triumph over Beaver County Community College two days earlier.

Butler CCC is 14-3 overall and 9-0 in the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference.

Robert Morris: Serra Catholic graduate and Plum resident Lauren Kolenik tallied 12 kills in a 3-0 win over Long Island on Oct. 12.

The redshirt sophomore outside/right-side hitter ranks second on the team in total kills with 158 in 55 sets.

RMU is 16-3 overall and 6-0 in Northeast Conference play. The Colonials have won six straight and are 8-0 at home.

Women’s soccer

Cal (Pa.): Knoch graduate and freshman midfielder/forward Lindsie Galbreath scored her team’s lone goal in games against IUP and Clarion.

She leads the Vulcans with three goals this season.

Men’s golf

Allegheny: Sophomore Alex Lawson, a Fox Chapel grad, carded rounds of 73 and 78 to help the Gators win the Nazareth Cup on Oct. 13 in Pittsfield, N.Y.

Lawson has had a hand in all four of the team’s tournament wins this season. He led the way with consecutive rounds of 73 at the Montgomery Cup on Oct. 6 in Rosemont, Pa.

It is the best start for Allegheny since 1997.

Men’s soccer

Gannon: Knoch graduate and senior forward Ben Andrews scored his fourth goal of the season in the Knights’ victory over Seton Hill on Wednesday.

He added a pair of goals in a win over Daemen (N.Y.) on Oct. 7 for Gannon (10-1 overall, 3-1 PSAC).
