Member of the Alle-Kiski Valley Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2020 will be recognized for their accomplishments.

Just not this year.

The 51st annual induction ceremony, scheduled for May 16, was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. The inductees will be honored at next year’s banquet, set for May 15, 2021, at the Quality Inn in New Kensington.

“We greatly appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our inductees, student honorees, advertisers, members, the outstanding staff at the Quality Inn, and the many volunteers and donors who support the Hall of Fame,” said chair Larry Lutz on behalf of the hall of fame’s board of directors.

The class includes eight athletes — Burrell’s Chris Como, Leechburg’s Jeff Cortileso, Fox Chapel’s Rich Kriston (posthumously), Highlands’ Bob Mills and Glenn Mills, Oakmont’s Terry Preece, Ford City’s Lizzie Suwala Shaeffer and Freeport’s Bobby White.

Also set to be honored are local high school student athletes. More information is available at alle-kiski-hof.com.
