Antonio Brown wanted on charges of attempted murder after shooting at celebrity boxing match
Former Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is wanted by police in Miami-Dade County in Florida in connection with a shooting at a celebrity boxing match in May, the Washington Post reported Thursday night.
The newspaper said a judge signed a warrant for Brown’s arrest on charges of attempted murder with a firearm. It calls for Brown to remain on house arrest until trial and post $10,000 bond.
According to the warrant, police reviewed a video that apparently showed Brown involved in a brawl, punching another man, taking a gun from a security guard and running toward the man he punched. Witnesses and the alleged victim said Brown fired two shots. The alleged victim said he may have been grazed on the neck and went to the hospital for treatment.
In a social media post after the incident, Brown said he was jumped by attackers trying to steal his jewelry.
Brown, 36, is one of the greatest wide receivers in Steelers history. He had 11,207 receiving yards and 74 touchdowns in parts of nine seasons with the team from 2010-2018. He has been involved in multiple legal entanglements during and after his NFL career.
