Seven area collegiate golfers wrapped up the spring season Friday at the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division III National Championship at Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, N.Y.

Butler County Community College’s Noah Morgan, an Allegheny-Clarion Valley grad, led the way with a tie for 20th out of 90 golfers with a four-round total of 318 (30 over). He finished one stroke away from an All-American spot that goes to the top 18 in the final standings.

Morgan’s BCCC teammate, Tucker Skerbetz (Laurel High School), finished 36th (37 over). Carmen Oliva (Neshannock), also from BCCC, placed 42nd.

Luke Ostermeyer (Laurel) and Tyler Johnson (Armstrong) ended the four-day event in 76th and 79th, respectively.

CCAC-Boyce’s Ryan Skladany (Gateway), golfing at the national tournament for the second consecutive year, completed his four rounds tied for 48th (43 over).

He and Morgan had the best single rounds of the tournament among the local competitors. Both shot 75 in the third round Thursday.

CCAC-North’s Max Reda (New Brighton) made his nationals debut and tied for 72nd. He carded a 78 in third round.
