Last week, it was Bears kicker Cody Parkey who was the sob story of the NFL playoffs. He “double-doinked” a field goal that would’ve sent the Bears to the next round with a win over the Eagles.

This week, though, it’s an Eagle who is the league-wide goat. Alshon Jeffery let a perfect pass from Nick Foles go right through his fingers. It wound up getting intercepted by Marshon Lattimore.

That play cost Philadelphia any hope at a comeback, thus ending their Super Bowl title defense. As a result, the Saints advanced to the NFC Championship Game against the Rams next Sunday.
That’s a rough moment for a guy who, back in December, said he has “the best hands in the league.”
Twitter was unkind to Jeffery. Shocking. I know.
A quick search of Jeffery’s name under the “photos” section resulted in a few of these beauties.

At least Jeffery took ownership of the loss.
Alshon Jeffery taking Loss very hard:

Jeffery’s coach, Doug Pederson, came to the aid of his wide receiver.
“Don’t let one play define you. It’s not who he is, he’s too good of a player.”

Quarterback Nick Foles did as well.

The guy who should be thanking Jeffery is Saints kicker Will Lutz. He pushed a field goal wide right with 3:03 left. That miss set up the Eagles drive, which could’ve resulted in another Philadelphia road win.
And a new companion for Parkey in the kicker dog house.
