Big Ten alters Penn State football schedule for 2021
The Penn State football team learned its 2021 schedule Friday … for the second time.
Big Ten officials made adjustments to the original schedule, which was released after the completion of the 2020 season.
The Big Ten needed to accommodate six games that adjusted locations as a result of changes made during last year’s scheduling process which was truncated because of covid-19 concerns.
Penn State will still open against Wisconsin on Sept. 4, but they will play Indiana nearly a month earlier. A matchup with Illinois was moved up, as was a meeting at Ohio State.
The game vs. Rutgers was moved up a week in late November, and Penn State will now finish the season at Michigan State.
The Nittany Lions now have a bye week Oct. 16 instead of Oct. 2.
