Bills looking for couple to marry during halftime of Patriots game
The Buffalo Bills are looking for a couple to get married in a halftime ceremony during a regular season game next season.
The team announced the “Halftime Wedding Experience of a Lifetime” contest last week and are looking for a couple of fans to tie the knot at New Era Field on Sept. 29 against the New England Patriots.
Halftimes at NFL games are usually between 12 to 15 minutes, so it will be a quick ceremony. But at this game the wedding may be the highlight. The Bills have lost the last 5 matchup against the Patriots and have a 5-33 record in the series since 2000.
The winning couple can bring along 20 invited guests … and there will be another 70,000 in the stands. They get custom Bills jerseys to remember the day.
The team is trying to vet the couple by asking “How long have you been a Buffalo Bills fan?” and “How long has your fiancé been a Buffalo Bills fan?” on the contest page.
Couples have until July 7 to submit their info to the contest.
We're hosting a wedding. At halftime. On the 50-yard line.
And it could be YOU getting married!
