The Pittsburgh Steelers can’t attend every college’s pro day, particularly those in the Mountain and Pacific time zones, which is why they visit with some prospects from those locations when everyone is gathered at the NFL Combine.

One such player is Boise State outside linebacker Curtis Weaver, who said he will have a formal visit with the Steelers on Friday.

Weaver is a 6-foot-2, 265-pound linebacker who has experience playing on the edge in a 3-4 defense.

“I can play in space,” Weaver said. “I did at Boise, played multiple positions. I’m two-point stance on the edge at all times.”

Weaver was voted Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year in 2019, the third consecutive year he was named first-team all-conference. He finished his career with 34 sacks, most in Mountain West history.

Weaver said his bend is what made him such an elite pass rusher in college.

“I feel like my bend is the best in the draft,” he said. “And then I feel like my get-off is up there.”

Weaver is considered a mid-round prospect.
