Virginia redshirt senior Bridget Guy will bring home a bronze medal from Italy.
Guy, a former Hempfield standout, took third place in the pole vault while competing at the World University Games in Napoli.
She cleared 14 feet, 1.75 inches.
Guy came into the event with the sixth-best vault of 14-7.5, which she posted at the Virginia Challenge for a school record. She claimed her second All-American honor during the recent outdoor season and finished fourth at the NCAA Championships. She also garnered All-America honors during the indoor season with a fifth-place finish at nationals.
