TAMPA, Fla. — The most significant portion of Antonio Brown’s legal issues stemming from his alleged assault of a moving truck driver has been resolved, according to an attorney for the Bucs receiver.
NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, citing attorney Sean Burstyn, reported Tuesday that Brown, 32, has completed the two years’ probation he received as a result of the incident a year ahead of schedule.
“In further demonstration of Antonio Brown’s hard work and great progress since his NFL suspension, we are very pleased to advise that his withheld adjudication is now final and he has completed his probation a full year ahead of schedule,” Burstyn said.
Brown, a former Pittsburgh Steeler, was arrested in January 2020 regarding the incident, in which he and his trainer were accused of verbally and physically attacking a driver transporting Brown’s belongings from California to south Florida. Last June, he pleaded no contest on charges of burglary with battery, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and criminal mischief.
He was ordered to serve two years of probation, attend a 13-week anger management program, undergo a psychological exam and complete 100 hours of community service. Adjudication was withheld, meaning Brown wouldn’t be convicted of a crime.
“We see nothing but blue sky for AB,” Burstyn said.
Brown still faces a civil lawsuit regarding the matter. In April, he settled an unrelated sexual assault lawsuit.
