Marc Bucci already was familiar with the men’s soccer program at Pitt-Greensburg, having served as an assistant coach in 2017.

That made his transition to head coach of the Bobcats a little easier.

Bucci will take over the program following the departure of Dan Keefe, who left to become an assistant at Lincoln Memorial in Harrogate, Tenn.

Bucci was an assistant at Pitt-Johnstown last season, the school at which he played his college soccer from 2009-12. A Plum graduate, he also coached the Gateway boys team and led the Gators to their first playoff appearance in nine years in 2016. He was a four-year starting midfielder at UPJ after earning All-WPIAL honors at Plum.

“Marc will bring the passion and pride back to the program and help elevate us to the next level,” UPG athletic director Jeromy Yetter said. “I know our student-athletes will be excited to work with him as their coach.”

Said Bucci: “My hope is to bring back the excitement to the players of this program and help them find the passion for the sport they love.”

Bucci works as an instructor and coach with the Allegheny Force Football Club.
