Angela Baker continues to climb the ranks in the NFL.

The Carlynton graduate and former Pittsburgh Passion quarterback was hired Friday as an offensive quality control coach and minority coaching fellow with the New York Giants, according to an ESPN report.

Baker spent the 2020 and ‘21 NFL seasons working with the Cleveland Browns through the Bill Walsh Diversity Coach Fellowship, a program that allows young coaches the opportunity to gain experience with an NFL team.

Baker, an eight-year veteran with the Passion who was a first-team Women’s Football Alliance All-Star in 2020, was one of six coaches involved with the program.

Baker is the second female assistant coach hired by new coach Brian Daboll. He also hired Laura Yong as the team’s director of coaching operations. In 2021, there were 12 women on NFL coaching staffs, and that number is likely to increase for 2022.
