Kansas City Chiefs offensive guard Stefen Wisniewski (61) during the second half of the NFL AFC Championship football game against the Tennessee Titans Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, in Kansas City, MO.

Stefen Wisniewski is ready for a homecoming, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are ready to fill a vacancy on their offensive line.

Wisniewski, a Central Catholic graduate and Penn State product, announced on his Twitter account he has signed a contract with the Steelers to provide help on the interior of their offensive line.

In a picture, Wisniewski is pointing to a Steelers cap on his head. He wrote: “Guess what Steelers fans … I’m coming home!!!! And I’m coming to win!!!”

The deal is for two years, according to the NFL Network, and fills a vacancy on the offensive line with the retirement of left guard Ramon Foster and the departure of top backup B.J. Finney to the Seattle Seahawks in free agency.

Wisniewski, 30, is a nine-year veteran who won the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs in two of the past three years.

Wisniewski appeared in 11 games last year with the Chiefs, making two starts at the end of the season. He held onto his job in the playoffs and started against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl.

A second-round pick of the Oakland Raiders in the 2011 draft, Wisniewski spent four years in the Bay Area before joining the Jacksonville Jaguars for one year. He moved on to Philadelphia, where he became a Super Bowl champion for the first time. He spent one season in Kansas City.

Wisniewski has made 103 starts in 134 career games. He started at center for the Raiders but switched to left guard with the Eagles.

As a senior at Central Catholic, Wisniewski was a member of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Terrific 25.
