Things continue to change in District 31 American Legion: Murrysville is back, and Jeannette is out.
Murrysville returns after missing the 2018 season, and Jeannette is out after a disappointing end to its season.
The league will begin playing May 17 and run through July 5.
Hempfield East is the returning champion. It will use Pitt-Greensburg as its home field after playing at Hempfield High School last summer. Hempfield East won the Region 7 tournament and advanced to the state tournament.
The other teams in the league are Bushy Run, Derry, West Hempfield, Kiski Valley, Latrobe, Mt. Pleasant, Unity, Yough and Young Township, from Indiana County, which returns for a second season.
The Westmoreland Junior Legion League expanded to 18 teams.
The Westmoreland County teams are Burrell, Hempfield East, Kiski Valley, Ligonier Valley, Mt. Pleasant, Murrysville, PAL-Irwin, Penn Township and West Hempfield.
Joining the league from Allegheny County are Baldwin, Bethel Park, Monroeville, Penn Hills, Plum and Riverview. The Fayette County teams are Connellsville, Smithfield and Uniontown.
