Chase Claypool added to Steelers’ injury report, T.J. Watt upgraded to full participant
Chase Claypool was revealed to be the third of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ trio of starting wide receivers to be dealing with injury this week when he was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice because of a hamstring injury.
The Steelers finished this past week’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals without wide receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster (ribs) and Diontae Johnson (knee). Johnson, though, was a full practice participant Thursday after he missed the entire game Sunday. Smith-Schuster, who left the Bengals game early, was listed as limited Thursday on the league-mandated practice report.
Another position group decimated by injuries received a little good news when outside linebacker T.J. Watt took part in a full practice for the first time since leaving the Sept. 19 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders because of a groin injury. The starter on the other side, Alex Highsmith, remained limited as he deals with a groin injury.
Starting right tackle Chuks Okorafor remained on concussion protocol and did not practice. Neither did reserve offensive lineman Rashaad Coward (ankle) or reserve defensive lineman Carlos Davis (knee). Davis has missed the past two games.
A designation of pectoral injury remains for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, but he practiced fully Thursday.
