Steelers' Chase Claypool named to all-rookie team by Pro Football Writers of America
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool was named to the Pro Football Writers of America’s all-rookie team in balloting results announced Tuesday by the organization representing media from across the NFL.
Claypool led the Steelers in touchdowns (11), receiving touchdowns (tied, nine) and yards per catch (14.1). His 873 receiving yards ranked second. Claypool led all NFL rookies in receiving touchdowns and was tied for second in overall touchdowns.
The No. 49 overall pick — the Steelers traded away their first-round selection — Claypool was the 11th wide receiver taken in the April draft. But he was deemed one of the top two rookie receivers when the season ended, alongside the Minnesota Vikings’ Justin Jefferson. Jefferson was taken at No. 22 overall and was the fifth receiver selected.

Herbert completed 66.6% of his passes for 4,336 yards and a rookie-record 31 touchdowns. He added five rushing touchdowns for the Chargers.
The No. 2 overall pick, Young led rookies with 7 ½ sacks.
Claypool was named the Steelers’ rookie of the year last month in voting done by the Pittsburgh chapter of the PFWA.
