Browns' Myles Garrett again alleges Steelers QB Mason Rudolph used racial slur
Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett again alleged on Thursday that Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph used a racial slur to ignite a brawl during a Nov. 14 game.
In an interview with ESPN, Garrett said Rudolph “called me the N-word. He called me a ‘stupid N-word.’”
Garrett hit Rudolph in the head with the Steelers quarterback’s own helmet during the melee. He was suspended indefinitely, missing the last six games of the season. He was reinstated Wednesday.
On Nov. 21, the NFL said it investigated Garrett’s allegations of a racial slur being used and “found no such evidence.”
At the time, Rudolph said he “definitely didn’t say anything that escalated it,” and the Steelers issued a statement that said, “Mason vehemently denies the report of being accused of using a racial slur during the incident. … He will not discuss this accusation any further.”
Rudolph was fined $50,000 for his role in the altercation.
