Pitt receives verbal commitment from Virginia WR Bryce Yates, 3rd in class of 2025
Coach Pat Narduzzi added a third verbal commitment to Pitt’s 2025 recruiting class Sunday when wide receiver Bryce Yates of Chesterfield, Va., pledged to enroll next year.

Yates (6-foot, 165 pounds) put together a productive junior season last year at Matoaca (Va.) High School, with 79 receptions for 1,193 yards and 18 touchdowns, according to his X account. He also amassed 1,576 all-purpose yards. On the other side of the ball, he played in the Motoaca secondary, recording six interceptions and 27 tackles.
So far, Yates has received 12 scholarship offers, including from Pitt, Duke, Maryland, East Carolina, Buffalo and James Madison.

He joins two other three-star prospects in Pitt’s class — quarterback Mason Heintschel of Oregon, Ohio, and defensive end Trevor Sommers of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
