Another deep field featuring 21 top 3-year-old colts and gelding pacers are set for Saturday’s Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids at The Meadows.

The 54th edition will have an estimated purse of $450,000 on the line.

The field will be split into a trio of elimination races, each worth $25,000. The first post is 12:45 p.m., and the eliminations will be in races 5, 8 and 9.

The top three finishers in each elimination race will advance to the final Aug. 1 when the remaining $375,000 will be paid out.

Post positions were drawn Tuesday. A couple of trainers will have multiple entrants.

Tony Alagna and Ron Burke have five apiece, accounting for nearly half the entrants. Brian Brown has a horse in the first and third elimination.

One of Burke’s horses, Elver Hanover, began his career with 10 straight victories before tasting defeat last week in an Ohio Sires Stakes leg.

Elver Hanover, piloted by Chris Page, will start from post 4 in the third elimination.

Papi Rob Hanover, steered by David Miller and trained by Brett Pelling, suffered a heartbreaking loss in the Meadowlands Pace final last weekend.

Coming in at 4-1 odds, the horse finished runner-up in the final as Tall Dark Stranger, a horse trained by Nancy Takter, won by a neck in 1 minute, 47.2 seconds.

Papi Rob Hanover will run from post 4 in the second elimination.

Takter also trains No Lou Zing, which will run against Papi Rob Hanover in the second elimination.

Saturday’s program also includes a pair of stakes for 3-year-old filly pacers: a $188,682 Pennsylvania Sires Stake and a $100,000 PA Stallion Series event.
