Penn-Trafford grad DeFazio putting up big numbers in AMCC
Lydia DeFazio is taking the AMCC by storm this softball season.
The sophomore first baseman/catcher at Mt. Aloysius was named AMCC Softball Player of the Week after a dominating, four-game stretch for the Mounties (17-4, 4-0).
Her numbers have been astronomical.
A Penn-Trafford graduate, DeFazio went 13 for 15, hitting safely in 13 straight at-bats with six home runs, two doubles, 13 RBIs and eight runs. She was a perfect 8 for 8 in a doubleheader sweep of Franciscan, and she hit three homers in the second game. Against Meadville, she delivered a walk-off home run.
Perhaps her unthinkable slugging percentage best sums up her week: It was 2.200.
For the season, she leads the Mounties with a .509 average (28 for 55) and has seven homers, 28 RBIs and 18 runs, also team highs.
The average, homers and RBIs also lead the AMCC.
