Seton Hill product Perry DellaValle is pitching well for the St. Louis Cardinals’ Gulf Coast League team.

Former Seton Hill ace pitcher Perry DellaValle has to serve a 50-game suspension in the minor leagues after a second positive test for a drug of abuse.

The suspension was levied in late July.

DellaValle, 23, is in his rookie season with Palm Beach Cardinals, the Class A affiliate of St. Louis. He had been pitching well, to the tune of a 5-6 record and 3.22 ERA in 19 starts.

The Florida State League all-star also had one relief appearance.

DellaValle, who hails from North Royalton, Ohio, was a 27th-round draft pick of the Cardinals in 2018.

He was ranked 50th on the most recent Cardinal Nation Top 50 Prospect List.
