Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal did not practice Wednesday, three days after entering NFL concussion protocol during a game at the Houston Texans.

Punter Pressley Harvin III, guard James Daniels and defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal were among those who did not practice for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday, four days in advance of an AFC North showdown against the Baltimore Ravens.

Harvin has a hamstring injury and Daniels a groin ailment that prevented each from playing in this past Sunday’s loss at the Houston Texans, a game during which Leal suffered a concussion.

That Leal, a second-year player, has not yet progressed through NFL protocol to the point he could practice Wednesday is an indication he will not be cleared to play against Baltimore. If Harvin does not practice by Friday, Brad Wing will again be elevated from the practice squad to punt in his place. Nate Herbig is the top backup at guard and started in place of Daniels against the Texans.

Tight end Pat Freiermuth (hamstring) also did not practice and almost certainly will not play Sunday. Left tackle Dan Moore (knee) has already been ruled out, but quarterback Kenny Pickett (knee) practiced on a limited basis and declared he will be “good to go” against the Ravens.

Others held out of practice Wednesday but likely are not in danger of missing Sunday’s game include cornerback Patrick Peterson and guard Isaac Seumalo, who were given veteran’s days off. Left tackle Chuks Okorafor was listed as having an elbow injury he also sat out with last Wednesday yet practiced fully the next two days and played Sunday in Houston.

Inside linebacker Cole Holcomb was limited in practice because of a back ailment.
