Derek Orndorff is getting to be a regular on ESPN.

The Seton Hill senior did it again, making another spectacular sliding catch in center field Tuesday night during the Division II College World Series in Cary, N.C. to once again make SportsCenter’s Top Plays.

This time he checked in at No. 6, two spots lower than his No. 4 highlight play in March.

Orndorff took away a gap shot from Angelo State during the eighth inning of the Griffins’ second game in the winner’s bracket Tuesday.

Seton Hill (39-7) fell, 9-4, and now has to play its way back through the losers’ bracket.

It will take on Wingate on Wednesday afternoon in an elimination game at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.

Orndorff’s earlier catch came against IUP when he fully extended to make a diving play, then recovered to make a quick relay throw to the infield, nearly doubling up the Crimson Hawks.

A Connellsville graduate, Orndorff came to Seton Hill from Penn State, where he began his college career. He is batting .360 with a team-leading 15 home runs and 43 RBIs.
