Pitt’s final player availability report ahead of kickoff Saturday vs. No. 13 Miami contained several pieces of good news for the 24th-ranked Panthers.

Carrying no injury designations were tailback Desmond Reid, kicker Trey Butkowski, offensive guard Ryan Carretta and defensive tackle Francis Brewus.

Defensive tackle Sean FitzSimmons was listed as a game-time decision, with the Panthers (8-3, 6-1 ACC) and Hurricanes (9-2, 5-2) kicking off at noon from Acrisure Stadium.

With ACC title game aspirations on the line Saturday for both teams, Butkowski’s availability is consequential for Pitt.

Butkowski, Pitt’s true freshman kicker, is 19 of 21 on field goals this season but has missed his team’s last two games vs. Notre Dame and Georgia Tech due to illness.

Handling field goal duties in his absence has been Sam Carpenter, who has gone 1 for 3, hitting a 24-yarder vs. Notre Dame but missing a 53-yard attempt that same game before shanking a 35-yard try at Georgia Tech.

Reid has missed four games and has been limited in several others in an injury-riddled campaign.

He’s rushed for 278 yards with two scores, adding 23 catches for 317 yards and two more touchdowns.

When Reid was unavailable Nov. 22 at Georgia Tech, true freshman Ja’Kyrian Turner stepped in and put together a career day, rushing for 201 yards in the Panthers’ 42-28 upset win.

Carretta has been Pitt’s starting left guard since Oct. 4, when he took over for Keith Gouveia, who suffered a season-ending injury the prior week. Carretta missed last week’s contest vs. the Yellow Jackets.

Brewu has been one of Pitt’s most impactful interior defensive linemen, posting 32 tackles (five for loss) and two quarterback hurries. He has started every game this year for the Panthers.

Senior Day participants

Pitt announced all players who are partaking in Saturday’s pregame Senior Day festivities, signifying that their time with the Panthers is concluding after this season.

Those participating are: Poppi Williams, Nate Temple, Deuce Spann, Tamon Lynum, Blaine Spires, Rashad Battle, Kavir Bains-Marquez, Luke DelGaudio, Nick Lapi, Jalynn Williams, Joey Zelinsky, Nilay Upadhyayula, Nico Crawford, Drew Foster, Jeff Persi, Justin Holmes, Caleb Junko, Desmond Reid, Javon McIntyre and Jake Overman.
