The Penguins and Aramark announced a series of renovations related to dining at the decade-old PPG Paints Arena.

According to a release from the team, these changes are purported to create a contactless experience in a post-coronavirus environment.

Some of the changes include self-checkout scanners, self-ordering kiosks, mobile ordering, a self-service beverage market and a sports bar dubbed the King Penguin.

“The Penguins are very proud to partner with Aramark to make PPG Paints Arena the safest and most innovative sports and entertainment dining experience in the country,” Penguins CEO and president David Morehouse said in the release. “Following our announcement of the Rivers Casino deck last week, we have several construction projects underway to keep our fans safe and we look forward to welcoming fans back to the arena with improved food and beverage facilities and the latest fan interactive technologies.”

Construction is expected to be completed by the start of the next NHL season.

“We’re excited to extend our partnership with the Penguins and to use this offseason to further elevate PPG Paints Arena’s dining experience,” said Mike McDonald, district manager for Aramark’s Sports & Entertainment division. “Now, more than ever, it’s imperative we provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone we serve. We have a long, proud history of serving Penguins fans and I’m confident we will continue to deliver an innovative, dynamic and engaging food and beverage experience for everyone attending events at the arena.”

Drink MKT, the self-service beverage markets, will be located in Sections 101, 105, 109, 204 and 215.

The King Penguin sports bar will be at Section 114 on the main concourse. It will feature 10 big screen televisions and lounge seating.

The Market, with three food stations, will be at Section 116. Fan Favs Express, with traditional food and beverage options, will be at Section 119.

And Connected Concepts, with popular menu items from around the arena, will be at Section 205.

Follow the Penguins all season long.
