Diontae Johnson, T.J. Watt limited in practice as Steelers prepare to face Ravens
Wide receiver Diontae Johnson and outside linebacker T.J. Watt began the practice week for the Pittsburgh Steelers participating on a limited basis.
Johnson is dealing with a hip injury, and Watt has been bothered by a rib injury that prevented him from practicing fully last week. Both are expected to play Sunday when the Steelers face the Baltimore Ravens at Acrisure Stadium.
Johnson led the Steelers with five receptions last Sunday in the Steelers’ 19-16 victory at Atlanta.
Four players were withheld from practice Wednesday because of injury: running back Najee Harris (oblique), outside linebacker Malik Reed (back), right tackle Chuks Okorafor (shoulder) and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi (toe).
Okorafor’s injury was suffered against the Falcons. He missed just one play because of it.
Also on Wednesday, the Steelers added linebacker Emeke Egbule to the practice squad and waived running back Master Teague. Injuries to Watt and Reed likely necessitated the addition of Egbule, who played in 32 games with the Los Angeles Chargers after being selected by them in the sixth round of the 2019 draft. With the Chargers, he primarily played on special teams and made no starts.
