Seton Hill’s Ky’Ron Craggette

Ky’Ron Craggette ran for 155 yards and a 48-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to lead Seton Hill to a 16-7 upset of No. 6 Cal (Pa.) in NCAA Division II PSAC football Saturday.

Darrian Carter threw for 71 yards and ran for 97 yards and a touchdown for Seton Hill (3-3, 1-1), which trailed by one entering the fourth quarter. Ben Weaver had two sacks and a forced fumble for Seton Hill’s defense. Kendrick Agenor rushed for 73 yards for the Vulcans (4-1, 1-1).

IUP 35, Edinboro 12 – Logan Goodwan had 2½ sacks and a forced fumble as IUP (4-1, 2-0) had nine sacks overall in its PSAC win over Edinboro (2-3, 2-1). Randy Okungu added 1½ sacks and a forced fumble while Terell Williams scored on a 38-yard fumble return for IUP. Matthew Rueve completed 19 of 24 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

Gannon 38, Slippery Rock 35 – Damario Moore caught three passes for 46 yards and a touchdown and returned four kickoffs for 158 yards, including an 89-yard touchdown, as Gannon (1-4, 1-0) upset No. 14 Slippery Rock (3-2, 0-2) in PSAC play. Ty Hurst threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 66 yards and a TD for Gannon. JayJay Jordan rushed for 248 yards and three touchdowns for Slippery Rock, which outgained Gannon 540-438 but turned the ball over three times.

Division III

Allegheny 21, Waynesburg 11 – Freshman Nick Barker threw three touchdown passes in his first collegiate start to lead Allegheny (2-3, 2-1) to a PAC win over Waynesburg (2-3, 2-1). Chris Gisewhite, Nick Burkey and Will Griffin caught touchdown passes for the Gators.

Carnegie Mellon 56, McDaniel 7 – Joey McGinnis IV threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns as Carnegie Mellon (3-1, 1-0) defeated McDaniel (1-3, 0-1) to win its Centennial Conference opener. Reece Kolke caught four passes for 129 yards and a touchdown and Brendan McCullough had four catches for 99 yards and a score. CMU scored on defense on a 35-yard interception return by DJ Johnson and a Gabe Bonnet fumble recovery.

Case Western 42, Saint Vincent 14 – Sam DeTillio threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 73 yards and another TD as Case Western (2-2, 2-1) won the PAC contest at Saint Vincent (1-4, 0-3). Will Stack scored twice in the second quarter for Case Western – on a 20-yard pass from DeTillio and a 21-yard run. Saint Vincent’s Jake Phillips threw for 259 yards and a touchdown to Chris Downs, who had six receptions for 131 yards.

Grove City 22, Geneva 9 – Breck Peacock caught six passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns, including a 75-yard score in the second quarter, to lead Grove City (1-2, 1-1) to a PAC win. Sutton Ellis threw for 182 yards and three scores and Chase Rankin ran for 157 yards for Grove City. Caleb Romano threw for 335 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions and Luke Crumbacher caught five passes for 150 yards and a score for Geneva (2-2, 2-1).

Washington & Jefferson 70, Hiram 13 – In PAC play, Kellan Stahl threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns as Washington & Jefferson (2-2, 2-0) scored 49 first-half points on the way to defeating Hiram (2-3, 1-2). Kobe Derosa ran for 61 yards and three touchdowns for Washington & Jefferson. Dante DeRubbo had two interceptions for the Presidents, who picked off Hiram’s Sean Tejeda five times. Tejeda threw for 220 yards and a touchdown.

Westminster 52, Bethany 0 – Clayton Cannon Jr. rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns as Westminster (3-1, 2-0) outgained Bethany (0-4, 0-2) 563-78 in its PAC win. Ty McGowan tossed for 142 yards and two touchdowns. Lamont Austin returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown and Westminster’s defense recorded five sacks.

Division I FCS

Mercyhurst 22, Long Island University 13 – Adam Urena threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Evan Van Dyke midway through the fourth quarter to help Mercyhurst hold off Long Island University and give the Lakers a win in their Northeast Conference opener.

The Lakers (2-4, 1-0) built a 15-0 lead on Jamier Gamble’s 2-yard run, Brian Trobel’s 49-yard burst up the middle and Max Young’s 22-yard field goal. The Sharks (1-5, 0-2) got within 15-13 after three quarters on Chris Howell’s 34-yard TD pass to Jaron Kelley and Will Johnson’s second field goal.

Urena was 24-of-31 passing for 191 yards with the TD and an interception. Trobel had 67 yards rushing and Van Dyke 52 receiving.
