The D.C. Divas got the better of the Pittsburgh Passion, 54-22, in a Women’s Football Alliance contest Saturday evening.

The Passion got on the board first just 2 minutes, 12 seconds into the game on a 3-yard touchdown pass from Angela Baker to Krystal Cozzo.

The Divas responded to take a 13-8 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Pittsburgh regained the lead in the opening seconds of the second quarter, 16-13, on a 6-yard run by Baker and another two-point conversion.

The Passion’s final touchdown of the game came from the arm of backup quarterback Kara Prentice who threw four yards to Jana Meister.

D.C. led 36-22 at halftime and added 18 points in the second half to set the final.

The Passion, now 1-1 overall, will have a bye next Saturday and will return to action April 27 against the Grand Rapids Tidal Waves at West Allegheny High School.
